Alongside the CIOB accredited Foundation Degree, you’ll take up the role of Trainee Assistant Site Manager where you’ll develop an ability to co-ordinate trades, direct labour and materials in order to meet a highly challenging schedule on time, and within budget. You’ll be supported in your development by your own Barratt mentor who will help you to apply your learning to practice.
After three years you’ll achieve a Foundation Degree in Residential Development and Construction and have the option to continue for a further 18 months to top-up to the CIOB and RICS Accredited BSc (Hons) Degree.
After the first two years we anticipate that you will be appointed as an Assistant Site Manager. Candidates with high potential will progress to complete the BSc (Hons) Degree and be ready to take on a Site Manager role upon completion of the programme.
The academic teaching is tailor-made for Barratt Developments employees and is designed to complement and enhance your work-based learning. Many of the case studies that you’ll cover will be that of Barratt Developments, which some of you could be working on in your day-to-day roles.
You’ll be assisting the Site Manager in leading the development of the site through to completion; co-ordinating trades, directing labour and materials, whilst meeting a highly challenging schedule on time, within budget, with a focus on quality and customers.
